City of Houston employee Mary Coleman absolutely loves her KelseyCare health benefits plan. As a longtime member, she especially likes the convenience, care and affordable cost.

“You can’t beat the convenience. I recently had trouble with my shoulders and back. I didn’t need any referrals to see an orthopedic specialist or a spine specialist. I also didn’t need a referral to see a neurologist for my migraines,” Mary said.
“Getting the X-rays and blood work I need, or even my flu shot, is easy. Everything is in one place and I can choose from multiple locations.” Mary said.
Mary described a recent experience with a migraine headache as the kind of care and service she’s come to depend on from Kelsey-Seybold and KelseyCare.
“I have migraines from time to time. I had one on a Saturday and needed to see my doctor. My doctor wasn’t available and I was able to see someone else. Literally, within 20 minutes, I got care. I called at 12:30 p.m. and was seeing the doctor 45 minutes later. And they had access to my Electronic Medical Record. They could see what was done previously and the medications I’m taking. I didn’t have to try to remember what was prescribed in the past,” she said.
Mary said the availability of Saturday appointments for sick care is a convenience that saves her from having to take time off from work.
“That’s a blessing right there,” she said. “The cost is really good, too, in my opinion.”
